To build on yesterday’s theme of being fearless in your writing, today I’ll give an example of being fearless in marketing your work. Again, I was scared years ago to put my writing out there, then I had a heart attack at age 41 and it changed all that. Scared of some critics? Ar you kidding me? I was wheeled into an operating room not knowing if I was going to come out alive or not…that’s scary!
At some point you are going to have to get comfortable with promoting your own work. I have promoted other people’s works for years, but until recently haven’t gone on air to talk about The Gift of Stoppage Time. Again, it might now always be pretty (I hate the sound of my voice) but it’s part of the gig. Don’t be afraid of what people might think…just try it. Here is a recent interview from the Total Education Network and my chat with Neil Haley (who is awesome by the way!).
